5 Caribbean Picnic Essentials

Turn-ackee-and-saltfish-into-springrolls-to-make-a-party-friendly-appetizer

Growing up, something my family often did was take advantage of the outdoors for almost any occasion when the weather allowed it.

It was easy to see the Jamaican influence in our picnics and while the menu often changed (depending on our cravings), there were several items that always appeared in the picnic basket… but who am I kidding? Our picnic basket was the huge red Igloo cooler with wheels! 😂 I know we weren’t the only family that had that!

All of these foods are incredibly easy to make and even easier to eat so they’re perfect for any picnic!

Here’s a bonus tip: cocktail beef patties are a lifesaver! They are the perfect size for children and the ideal finger food for picnics. We find ours at our local West Indian store. Enjoy!
