Over the past few months, I’ve traveled throughout North America for Black Foodie. I’ve flown everywhere from Montreal to New Orleans in my quest for flavor and have had some of the best food I’ve ever had in these cities. But throughout the course of my travels I’ve also had some very basic – and I mean BASIC food at the airport. That’s why I was SO SURPRISED AND HAPPY to find this GEM in the Hartsfield- Jackson International Atlanta airport! Low Country Restaurant food was so delicious -I almost missed my flight eating!
Created by Chef G Garvin, the menu reflects his Southern roots and culinary talents. He combines classic southern favorites with new southern cuisine. Low Country is like a flavor oasis in an airport filled with bland food. Chef G Garvin’s flavor is evident in the cuisine and it truly is a taste of the South. With dishes like Baked Georgia Tilapia, Chef G’s crispy Fried Chicken, and Bacon Caramel Bread Pudding this is definitely a spot you need to check out during a layover in ATL.
I had the Salmon and shrimp which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. There is something for everyone here, from healthy and delicious options to hearty southern favorites.
The next time you’re in the Atlanta airport, get your fix of Southern cuisine and give this place a try. You will be pleasantly surprised!
